Muntefering, from Parkston, is a three time individual state champ, winning the 800 (2008), the 1600 (2006) and the individual
cross country crown (2006), a race in which he set the Class A course record on in Huron. Alex is an incredible story,
nearly losing a big toe in a farm accident, he has come back to the racing scene with determination, evident by his win
in last season's Class A 800 meter race. Muntefering ran 1:55 the summer after his 9th grade year and has gone sub 4:30
in the 1600 numerous times.
