Mendoza is one of the top cross country runners in South Dakota history. He owns numerous Class B individual state
championship crowns, including a remarkable THREE straight cross country titles. Mendoza will shoot for his FOURTH cross
country title on Saturday. Mendoza has run sub 9:50 in the 3200 as a sophomore in the track season and holds the Class
B 5000 meter record for the State XC meet in Huron, which he set during his record-breaking season. Mendoza has run
under 4:30 in the 1600 meters and is a Class B multiple-time state champion in that event as well.
